WORKSHOPS
VIRTUAL CLASSROOM VISITS - These are done via computer and either Google Hangouts or Skype. Will work with any group during writing time or will come in just for a author visit. Virtual classroom visits are $25/hr (classroom hour).
POINT OF VIEW - This virtual classroom visit workshop gives students insight into discovering the point of view a story is written from. This is a multi-lesson workshop and works best over several weeks (3 weeks in November is the best timeframe during the writing time of an ELA class). After learning the various points of view, students will work on fractured fairy tale comic books (a choice of 14-18 fairy tales will be given with the student rewriting their choice in a different point of view). Students will be provided with copies of a create your own comic book for the final project. This workshop is free if Ms. Eldering is participating in the class during writing time; otherwise, the three weeks of course time including copies of printouts will be charged at $200.
WRITING PROCESS - Taking students through the writing process from brainstorming ideas to publishing.
This workshop consists of working with students, showing where ideas come from and how to take that idea and turn it into a story along with editing, revising, and publishing.

DRAW AND TELL - For the younger students, just learning about the writing process.
This workshop shows the students how to think of beginnings, middles, and ends in their stories and allows them to draw a story of their own. Each student will be provided with a booklet for their story. This workshop is only $50 and includes the booklets for the students.
